How to add a pass to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet
Updated
Got a link or a QR code for an event pass? Here's how to save it to your phone's wallet, so it's one swipe away on the day, with no app to install.
On iPhone (Apple Wallet)
- 1Open the link you received. If it opened inside Instagram or another app, tap the menu and choose “Open in browser” (Safari works best).
- 2If the page asks for your name, type it first.
- 3Tap “Add to Apple Wallet”.
- 4A preview of the pass appears. Tap “Add” in the top-right corner.
- 5Open the Wallet app to find it. It also shows up on your lock screen near the event's time.
On Android (Google Wallet)
- 1Open the link you received in Chrome or your default browser.
- 2If the page asks for your name, type it first.
- 3Tap “Add to Google Wallet”.
- 4Sign in to your Google account if asked, then tap “Save”.
- 5Open the Google Wallet app to find the pass.
On a computer
Wallet passes live on phones. If you opened the link on a laptop, scan the QR code on the page with your phone's camera and follow the steps above.
The button doesn't work. What now?
Open the link in Safari or Chrome instead of an in-app browser: those inside Instagram, Facebook or TikTok often block wallet downloads.
On Android, check that Google Wallet is installed and set up. On iPhone, Wallet is built in.
Still stuck? Ask the organizer to resend the link. Most passes can also be shown straight from the web page.
Does the pass update by itself?
Yes, if the organizer uses a service that supports updates, like Passora. When they change the time or place, the pass on your phone changes too and you may get a notification. Keep the pass in your wallet to keep receiving those updates.
Send your own pass
Pick a template, fill in your event and share one link. Guests add it in one tap, no app needed.
